I work with seventeen year old students to assist them in making one of the biggest decisions of their lives. I create presentations by utilizing the latest technology. I convince counselors of the value of a Langston degree. I connect with teachers, guidance counselors, churches, and principals to build relationships with high schools and their communities. I e-mail, advise, inform students of available scholarships and deadlines, recruit students and counsel students in an attempt to make sure that the students who enroll at Langston University end up graduating with minimal debt. I study numbers, geographic locations, read articles on student trends, and make my travel requests based on this data. In 2013, we increased freshmen enrollment by 45% in a time when enrollment was down across the nation. As the Senior Recruiter for the 2014 cycle, Langston University saw the largest freshmen enrollment class in its history. In 2015, the record was broken again. The average gpa has increased by over .4 in four years and the average ACT score has risen by two points. I served as the Central and Northwestern Region Coordinator on the Executive Committee for the Oklahoma Day/Night Coordinating Committee, which is responsible for the college fairs in the central and northwestern regions of Oklahoma.
