I am responsible for unloading trucks as the arrive at the yard with materials in crates or on pallets. Ensuring the paper work gets date stamped and given to the proper people who assign a receiving number to the packing slip. Then depending on the priority of the load receive the material and check it against the packing slip to ensure the size, schedule, grade and quantity match. As well as verifying the heat numbers on the material match the heat numbers provided on the packing slip. Once material is received it is stored on shelves in a quanset or on the racking outside. Maintaining an organized shelving system and lay down are important to the picking process as materials are often required on a tight schedule for fabrication. Communicating locations and keeping like materials in the same area are important to make sure that the flow of material is as smooth as possible. When packs need to be picked, the pack of drawings can be picked up from our supervisors office. Then the list of materials for each drawing are picked from the shelves and tagged with the appropriate control number and put on a pallet to be wrapped and delivered as needed. Everything is to be done in a timely manner and with a very high level of accuracy. Show less
