I had the pleasure of working with Kyle on a design research project in Nairobi for an international client to understand people's personal finances, and he is a talented UX researcher with a wealth of knowledge and experience. A meticulous researcher, he ensured that the project was thoroughly researched and the insights were based on solid data. In addition to being an excellent communicator, he is capable of distilling complex research findings into clear, concise reports and presentations. I highly recommend Kyle for any design research role and am confident that he will excel in whatever challenge he takes on next.

If you ever have the opportunity to work with Kyle — take it. You’ll learn more than you ever though possible and produce some of the best work of your life. I worked with Kyle in two capacities. First, Kyle was the research lead on two projects I worked on. Kyle was an exceptional mentor and leader during both projects. It was inspiring to see how rapidly he ramped up to the subject matter, and he set the bar for how our team approached research. From a tactical perspective, Kyle guided us through the project with clarity and precision. He navigated the goals of many stakeholders and tight project timelines with ease. Under his guidance, we were able to produce high-quality work that made a significant contribution to Web3. Second, I supported the promotion of Kyle’s research on User Experience Design in Crypto. This body of work was well researched and was presented in a couple of different venues. The first was to support the teams participating in Web3athon, the largest multi-chain hackathon. Kyle’s research helped all attendees understand the challenges that Web3 faces when it comes to User Experience, regardless of skill level. Creating work that delivers value to an audience with a broad range of expertise was exceptionally useful during a hackathon with over 6000 attendees. That said, my favorite moment in promoting this research was watching a presentation Kyle gave in a more intimate setting to ~30 people. His thought provoking talk laid the foundation for a rich round-table discussion on User Experience that I have never seen in a Web3 setting. He facilitated this conversation, creating space for new ideas to take shape and build off of his research. All these experiences demonstrated the key feature that is instrumental to Kyle’s success as a researcher: his insatiable curiosity. If there is anything you want to understand better, Kyle is a must-have member of your team.

Worked with the Head of Service Design to hire, train, and mentor a team of designers to facilitate Yangon, Myanmar (Burma) based Yoma Bank's digital transformation. We built a team of designers, business analysts, product owners, and developers that connects in-field insights with functioning digital products within the organization's broader service design framework. As UX Design Lead, my responsibilities leaned on my experience and knowledge of digital UX design and agile methodologies to lay the groundwork for design-ops practices and processes that helped the organization transition to an agile workflow with a customer-centerd focus. MedicSana is an mHealth company targeting underserved segments in growing economies. I wore many hats at MedicSana... As Chief Executive Officer, I've been in charge of MedicSana's overall strategy and direction. I helped the company raise a seed round of investment that enabled us to go full time and hire contractors to build the product and am in charge of the day-to-day relationships with stakeholders and partners. As Designer and Researcher, I was responsible for building our qualitative research strategy that enabled us to identify a viable value proposition and design the interface for our MVP. As we entered production, I used my knowledge from our research to play the role of Product Owner on our scrum team. Show less

Aug 2011 - Dec 2011
As an intern at M3 Design, I developed my industrial design skills gaining hardware design experience in the industrial tablets, medical, and petcare industries. Through sketches and physical prototypes, I helped the team not only find the balance between ergonomic requirements and engineering constraints, but develop and express a brand language for a product that would become a flagship device in our client’s process management product line. Feb 2011 - May 2011
As an Intern at Zap, I got to explore the inner workings of an Electric Vehicle startup. Day-to-day activities included helping engineers and fabricators construct and document new prototypes for US and Asian markets. In addition to physical fabrication, my skills in Solidworks were a huge help to the team, particularly after being trained with 3D scanning software. The team also leveraged my sketching skills to quickly explore new concepts for future projects. I also had the opportunity to represent Zap at the Korea Green Forum in Seoul, South Korea. At the conference, after my presentation to more than 200 policy makers, trade organizers, and industry leaders, I was able to network with many green businesses on the international stage providing new partnership and marketing opportunities for the company.
