Working on a Monte Carlo simulation for Non-Small Cell Lung Cancer (NSCLC) evaluating Nivolumab and Pembrolizumab compared to Docetaxel. The overall project was to assess the cost effectiveness of immune checkpoint inhibitors in the treatment of advanced NSCLC, specifically from the perspective of the German statutory health insurance. To digitally reconstruct the Kaplan-Meier curves DigitizeIt was used. The reconstructed digitized curves were used to inform the models survival functionalities. We created an R Studio script, using imported Excel and .CSV files, to run the survival analysis of the recreated data. Using cost, life years, quality adjusted life years, incremental cost-effectiveness, and discount rate as the outcomes. During my fellowship I also participated in the universities Health Economics master’s program’s assignments of recreating previously completed models using the Microsimulation, Markov, Monte Carlo, and Infectious Disease models.

I conducted a literature search on component costs of parenteral drug administration, then I completed a literature review targeting relevant publications. Since there was limited literature on the topic, I performed a case study of my own to identify the component costs of parenteral administration and developed a cost analysis equation. Once the case study was complete, I wrote an abstract (pending submission) on the results and presented the findings to the company through a presentation.
