Working with a dedicated team, I helped the professor evaluate students' performances and assisted with data entry into a grading system, I also furthered students' engagement in and outside the classroom by providing curriculum-based group lessons. In this role, I became better at quick-thinking because of the uncertainty of the day-to-day operations of the class dynamics. I joined SGA because I wanted to help advocate for students rights on campus and in the Harrisonburg community. As a political science major, I find value in engaging in civic activities, and SGA was a way that I can participate in this at the university level. OSARP handles community and university standard violations through a fair process that holds students accountable for their actions. I handled appealed cases, helped with the deliberation and administration of appropriate sanctions. It was with OSARP that I learned how to keep my biases out of the discussion process, and by disregarding any preconceived notions, I was able to effectively be apart of the fair process that OSARP upholds. I was responsible for sending out mass email reminders, as well as all other important information. I was also in charge of attendance and recording the minutes of the meetings. Rotaract is consistent with a lot of my values, which is giving back and helping those in need. I also enjoy the professional aspect of the club, which is a good skill to learn early. The three tiers of Rotaract allow you to really grow with the club and develop professional skills even further. Performed exceptional skills in organizing campuses/ voter registration and was asked to apply for Deputy Campus organizer after just one week after being a fellow This hands on experience has taught me so much about all of the time and commitment that goes into campaigning. It was a tough experience, however, I would do it all over again if given the opportunity!
