I designed and fabricated a modular lab-on-a-chip platform that performs the main liquid sample processing steps required to analyse heavy water labelled cells by Gas Chromatography Mass Spectrometry. The system comprises custom designed fluidic chips, temperature sensors & controllers, and a syringe pump for liquid flow actuation.

Biomaker Challenge is a four-month programme challenging interdisciplinary teams to build low-cost sensors and instruments for biology. The programme aims to facilitate exchange between the biological and physical sciences, engineering, and humanities for the development of open source biological instrumentation using commodity electronics and DIY approaches. As coordinator, I manage and support 140 participants working in 41 teams. This involves organising events and offering assistance and support providing components and access to prototyping facilities in Cambridge. I also facilitate collaboration between participating teams and organise and run periodic technical workshops and meet ups to encourage teams to interact and help share skills and ideas. Show less
