- Worked on a real-time, websocket based online and offline messaging application project called A+ Chat for one of the leading local private banks. - Led the entire backend development process using Node.js with the Express framework while collaborating with both the iOS and Android developers. - Developed a signaling server using Socket.io to allow for real-time video and audio calls using WebRTC. - Developed multiple microservices with high fault-tolerance and self-healing capabilities using technologies such as PM2 and Docker while allowing inter-service communication using message brokers such as RabbitMQ. - Performed Linux system administration on AWS EC2 instances and Nginx configurations. - Implemented a websocket server using Socket.io to enable real-time communication between client and server while implementing caching strategies using Redis and DynamoDB/MongoDB. - Designed and developed a notification service from scratch using the Firebase SDK. - My role is in the development of microservices with real-time functionalities for the Passenger Information Display System (PIDS) using Elixir programming language for the Singapore Land Transport Authority. - Within one year, the system is now running on over 150+ bus stop panels and counting. - I assisted other engineers on various tasks such as automation scripting using Python or Bash - Helped setup CICD pipeline using Github Actions, Docker, CodeBuild, CodeDeploy, ECS and EC2 for Elixir microservices on AWS environment. - Assigned to create a stand-alone Elixir app from scratch that runs on every individual bus stop panel that performs system/network monitoring and self-healing in real-time to improve the fault tolerance of the system. - Mentored two trainees on their development tasks and assignments, conducted code reviews and provided constructive feedback.
