  South Central College was awarded a $15 million Round 4 TAACCCT grant from the Department of Labor in October 2014 to implement the Learn Work Earn project in collaboration with the Minnesota Advanced Manufacturing Partnership (MnAMP) consortium. MnAMP's goal is to implement a restructured academic framework in advanced manufacturing that emphasizes a standardized core curriculum, employer-driven apprenticeships, and cooperative education opportunities that lead to industry-recognized credentials in manufacturing. The Learn Work Earn project focuses on career pathways in advanced manufacturing specific to mechatronics, machining, and welding. Participants will earn stackable, portable industry-recognized credentials while simultaneously working in the industry with the ability to enter academic programs at multiple points based on assessment results that match individual skills.As South Central College's Project Coordinator, I will help ensure that the project's fiscal and programmatic objectives and outcomes are met in a timely manner. This includes working with internal and external partners regarding project goals, communicating project successes to the college and the consortium grant director, and ensuring that activities support the success of the grant and the college simultaneously.   As the first official grant writer at South Central College, I spent almost seven years establishing a grants office, implementing a grants application process, and working with faculty, staff, and administration on various grant proposals. During my tenure, SCC was awarded over 25 million dollars in funding from numerous local, state, and federal organizations.My main role at the college was to prioritize, research, facilitate, write, and submit institutional grant proposals to local, state, and federal funding sources.   The Greater Mankato Diversity Council provides Prejudice Reduction Workshops to students in the Greater Mankato area. As a facilitator, I have the opportunity to go into the classroom and share various lessons focused on respect and diversity with students grades K-12. The opportunity to interact with these students and present such a positive message is both challenging and rewarding.   I was responsible for a host of activities as an intern for the MoonDogs, including securing a national anthem singer for all 32 home games; contacting sponsors to arrange participants for in-between inning promotions; executing in-between inning promotions onfield and in the stands; tracking inventory and overseeing the set-up and take-down of the souvenier stand; setting up and taking down the stadium for each homestand; and assisting players with uniforms, bats, and after game meals.
