Kushal has an amazing blend of tech and humor, he is one guy who will solve your problem by giving you confidence that its not a big task and will make it look simple. In tech making some the simple is the most difficult thing and he does it with ease. He is very dependable and is capable of doing a wide range of stuff. His people skills are amazing and you instantly get a liking towards him. He is dependable and his eye for detail is awesome. He keeps pushing his limits and always learning new things.

It’s rare that you come across standout talent and tremendous energy like Kushal. I've worked with Kushal on CouponDunia around 10 months and have always been impressed with the calm, analytical and comprehensive demeanor in which Kushal approaches any problem. He always seems to arrive at the right compromise between choosing of a technology platform, a programming language and design pattern that keeps in mind the business requirements, the delivery schedule and the technology scalability and performance. I would feel confident of delivering projects on schedule with Kushal driving the technology side of things. He is a pleasure to work with and an asset to any team. I would recommend hiring him in any role, without hesitation.

Worked for CouponDunia as a scaling and software engineer for building the technical stack. Was involved in problem solving, technological research, upgrading and optimising the product. – Optimised the code and queries for faster return time of functions. – Used debuggers to solve bottlenecks, eg: one for loop was running for 10k+ times, so we either cached the results or just reduced the loop. – Built a custom profiler for MySQL Query monitoring and to find bottlenecks while talking to the DB. – Executing processes faster by adopting a PHP and Java stack where PHP communicates with Java and java returns with a processed value. Wrote the PHP framework for CD 2.0 from scratch. MVC based with autoloading library classes. Built a Slack Chat Bot (Jarvis) in NodeJS/MongoDB – deploys code to production; you write, "ok jarvis, deploy branch_name to country_name" to jarvis and it will securely ssh to the specific server and deploy the code (although we stopped using it after sometime :D). – real-time monitoring of our Memcached servers with NodeJS and Capped collections from MongoDB. Built a configurable cron monitoring system – Notifies when a cron fails. – Configuration of crons is done in the application and not in /etc/crontab, developers can configure their crons and just commit the file to make the cron live. Worked on algorithms for problems – Nearest Neighbourhood - based on a given lat-long pair, had to find the nearest neighbourhood. Used K-D Trees to solve the problem. – Spell Corrector - used Levenshtein's and Jaro Winkler's algorithms to perform search on a dictionary of words and suggest the closest match to user's search queries. Handled Development and DevOps for all the versions of the product, i.e India, Brazil, Indonesia, Turkey and Poland. Developed Git Hooks for ACL on branches since hosting code on github doesn't support branch management. Technologies used for the Stack – PHP, MySql, Java, Redis, Resque, MongoDB, NodeJS.
