“From Cultural Incompetence to Border Patrol: Barriers Preventing Child Welfare Workers from Serving Latino Immigrants” Under the direction of Dr. Alan Dettlaff, undergraduate research was conducted by doing qualitative data analysis and coding of interviews with child welfare caseworkers in border towns of Texas. I had the opportunity to present this project at both the Illinois Summer Research Symposium in Urbana, IL and the University of Illinois-Chicago Symposium in 2013. This project was selected for the National Conference of Undergraduate Research in Lexington, Kentucky in April of 2014.
