Cicero Associates is a leading survey research firm of merit with a broad-based clientele ranging from members of the political fraternity and media houses in India to agencies and universities in North America and Europe conducting research in India. Over the years it has carried out opinion polls, election studies and SWOT analysis for its various clients all over India. During the 2 and a half years at Cicero, I was involved with several cross-sectional representative sample surveys conducted throughout India. Most of these surveys were in the nature of public opinion polls and election surveys conducted for media houses or for academicians. Some surveys were also designed to assess the prevailing political climate and were used to devise strategies for political parties as well as for individual politicians. Legislative research was also carried out for members of the political fraternity. My roles included- Obtaining the sampling frame and drawing the sample from it. Developing the questionnaire and overseeing its design. Overseeing the preparation of sample respondent lists. Ensuring the development of other survey instruments. Conducting interviewer briefings to train field interviewers in data collection techniques. Carrying out any background research considered essential for the project. Preparing reports and presentations based on the analysed data. Essentially was responsible for supervising and managing the project right from its inception to its delivery. Prepared notes and briefs for members of the political fraternity for any debates and discussions taking place in the Parliament or the state assemblies. Show less
