The birth of UmojaLands was influenced by our subtle belief that prospective farmers can have digital access to vacant & underutilized farmland available for leasing, joint venture, crops share and buying, but after solving the land access problem our next big question was Would the small holder & rural farming communities whose backbone is mainly formed by women have wat it takes to access resources and funding to utilize the underutilized land? Our swift response was that like land access Financiers can have digital online access to farmer data to boost their lending frameworks. At UmojaLands we are spearheading Financial Inclusion for undeserved farming communities by Derisking lending to small holder rural farmers, building credit profiles and financial identities to Unlock financial opportunities for the excluded using alternate data stored in a unique Farmer e-ID. As a solution, we have developed a multi-purpose system that connects vacant farmland with farm seekers and farmer data with financiers using farmer digital identity we go an extra mile to provide crop history and soil fertility reports as well as agronomic data to our farm seekers Our Web-Based App the UmojaLands Fintech System is an intelligent system tailored to foster “inclusion of the excluded” The e-ID houses information not limited to e-KYC, Know your Farm, Proof of ownership, Affordable Insurance packages offered by our value chain partners Livestock information, Sales Data(Incorporate GMB –for document warehouse), Geo Locations and Agronomic Data that is collected fortnightly using our REMOTE SENSING APIs, We provide actionable event or insight derived from our user data and enable you to make decisions quicker as well as to eliminate onboarding corruption. Despite the perception people may have regarding the agricultural process, the reality is that today’s agriculture industry is data-cantered, precise, and smarter than ever. The rapid emergence of the Internet-of-Things (IoT) based technologies redesigned almost every industry including ―smart agriculture which moved the industry from statistical to quantitative approaches. Such revolutionary changes are shaking the existing agriculture methods and creating new opportunities along a range of challenges. At Lancreek Technologies Africa we explore the potential of wireless sensors, AI and IoT in agriculture which we believe will help solve the problems African farmers’ face as well as to catch up Africa on the smart farming models that the entire world has since embraced. Many of our African small-scale producers are already coping with a degraded natural resource base. They often lack knowledge about potential options for adapting their production systems and have limited assets and risk-taking capacity to access and use technologies and financial services as other parts of the world do. Enhancing food security while contributing to mitigate climate change and preserving the natural resource base and vital ecosystem services requires the transition to agricultural production systems that are more productive, use inputs more efficiently, have less variability and greater stability in their outputs, and are more resilient to risks, shocks and long-term climate variability. More productive and more resilient agriculture requires a major shift in the way land, water, soil nutrients and genetic resources are managed to ensure that these resources are used more efficiently. The challenges foreseen in agriculture as far as the need to double food supply is concerned are now putting agricultural sustainability at par with ensuring food security. Show less

After completing my training Programme with Research and Development Department, I was then re-deployed to the Office of the Corporate Executive Metbank, Which is where my passion for Fintech and Corporatism grew. Under the able watch of my Boss, I saw myself embrace how a full corporate world operates and being more inclined to Computer Science and Developmental IT, I then appreciated that Solutions come from the end user not from Us ICT people and programmers. My entrepreneurial ambitions and an eye for market gap was developed in this office. Show less

At the young age of 20 I began my role as a Research and Development officer which at the time was a 2 men department, Working with my then boss we saw the successful upgrade of the Core Banking system T24 which was done by TEMENOS AG. My then Boss was Heading the Project Steering Committee which I also sat in. Being young and much tech survey I also initiated a research into bitcoin which had just started to make the rounds globally as an alternative and more secure decentralized digital currency, However at the time the country was not yet ready to embrace Digital currencies. We also sent in a number of proposals to our management including the upgrade of our CRM, Happy to say most of them where later on to be implemented when I had left the department. Show less
