Kumar is a well-rounded intellectual, hard-working practitioner, and dynamic team member. I had the opportunity to work with him under Mercy Corps Nepal's the 2015 earthquake response. As the lead Coordinator for one of four field teams, Kumar was an exceptional leader and critical thinker. His team performed well above others, and Kumar brought a steady stream of insights that could be applied to other teams, as well as inform Mercy Corps' longer-term programming within earthquake-affected communities. Both professionally and personally, he is a pleasure to know.

Kumar is one of our MSc Environmental Management graduates. I have always found Kumar soft spoken yet articulate even while discussing the most complex issues. I was pleasantly surprised that he is extensively into writing and a regular columnist in one of our reputed national daily. He was positive yet critical attitude is what I admire in him. Furthermore, I was bit skeptical about his choice of topic for the thesis which was "Assessing illegal wildlife trade in Araniko-trail, Nepal". I was expecting challenges not only from science point of view but also safety as he will have to work with criminal networks. He successfully completed the thesis and also published it. I find him courageous, determined and excellent wildlife researcher. I wish his all be best for his endeavor.
