Basic FunctionsPromote the theology and practice of stewardship among parishes of the Archdiocese, assist in the development of stewardship programs within archdiocesan parishes, and assist parishes in meeting their short and long-term financial needs.Duties and ResponsibilitiesPromote and implement stewardship attitudes and principles in parishes throughout the Archdiocese.Facilitate regular stewardship education workshops and training initiatives to support best practices in stewardship for parishes and other ministries in the Archdiocese.Coordinate the Stewardship & Development eNewsletter and other publications for parishes, schools and benefactors as needed.Create models, plan and assist parishes in the implementation of comprehensive planned offering programs with special emphasis on electronic offertory giving. Encouraging pastors, finance committees and staff to avail themselves of the Planned Offertory Programs and educational opportunities.Provide periodic parish and school fundraising support materials to include:theological stewardship engagement opportunities.bulletin and newsletters articles and advertisements to promote giving.charitable gift annuity, gift in will and other deferred gift promotion opportunities.Provide counsel to parishes considering a capital campaigns or other major fundraising programs. Serve as a liaison between parishes and the Department of Stewardship & Development with regard to stewardship, fundraising and other issues.Forster and maintain relationships with clergy, religious and lay Catholics involved in stewardship in the archdiocese and around the country.Report regularly on activity and outcomes of the parish stewardship efforts.Attend and represent the Archdiocese of Chicago at Catholic stewardship related conferences.Attend and assist as needed with events coordinated by colleagues in the Department of Stewardship and Development.
