As a Claim Associate I have constant contact with individuals who are experiencing a loss. The definition of loss is something that is sudden and accidental. No one means for them to happen. And certainly, no one wants to deal with the circumstances. That is where I come in. I handle calls from customers on both sides of the loss; our insureds and claimants. All customers are treated with the same level of respect, caring and sense of urgency to ensure that they know they matter. It is important that they understand what their benefits are, how the process works from start to finish, and that we set realistic expectations for timelines. This is something that I do every day, but the customers may only have the experience once in a lifetime. Taking a moment to ensure that each customer understands the process on the initial call allows me to process their claim promptly and efficiently, while also alleviating the stressful part of the experience they've just had.

My husband and I had owned a business in Frederick for ten years and it was tragically destroyed as the result of an attempted robbery and fire in 2007. After much searching for our next business venture, we decided to bring a franchise restaurant to Maryland that not only provided excellent quality food, but that also was built on giving back to the community. In 2009 we opened the first location of Firehouse Subs in Maryland. Through an extensive local marketing program, our location reached #1 status in the United States on opening, and over $1M dollars in sales within 2 years. We were also able to donate over $20K in lifesaving equipment to local fire stations. In addition to the excitement of this community involvement, we have also had the pleasure of employing a team of up to 25 diverse employees who have provided excellent customer service to our customers and helped us build our stellar reputation.
