Masters Research Project. Advisor: Dr. John Strenkowski Topology Optimization for Minimum Weight Using A Streamline Based Approach - Developed a new technique to obtain reduced weight optimal topologies having a higher strength to weight ratio than the original structure using a stream trace-based approach. - Analyzed principal stresses, stress trajectories, slip lines and load paths using TECPLOT 360 to develop this method. - Reduced up to 40% weight in components such as beams… Show more Masters Research Project. - Reduced up to 40% weight in components such as beams, brackets, plates and similar other components. - The new method developed will significantly reduce the time required by the engineer to design a component with lesser weight.

    • Research Intern
      • Jul 2016 - Jan 2017

Mumbai Area, India Research Intern (Cryogenics Department)  Developed the Finite Element Model (FEM) of a hydrodynamic bearing to determine its load bearing capacity, so as to maintain the stability of the shaft that it supported, as it rotated at 200,000 rpm.  Used the Rayleigh-Ritz method of FEM to develop the same from the Reynold’s equation in 3-D.  Implemented a MATLAB code for Gaussian Elimination to determine the pressure profile generated during operation.
