Title: Detective – Regional Information and Intelligence Center (RIIC) Duties: • Train police officers on the utilization of unit specific computer equipment • Manage specialty computer equipment to identify vehicles with felony warrants • Collaborate with patrol, drug, special enforcement, and intelligence units • Assist with the Division of Criminal Investigations • Provide supplemental evidence for lead investigators regarding ongoing criminal cases Title: Detective – Crime Scene Unit Duties: • Collaborate with the detectives and police officers of state-wide municipalities • Perform investigation of crimes scenes including homicides, autopsies, robberies, burglaries, sexual assaults, larcenies, property damages, domestic assaults, and suicides • Locate, photograph, collect and preserve physical evidence from crime scenes • Transport all collected evidence to the St. Louis County Crime Laboratory for analysis • Maintain comprehensive and accurate documentation for use in court testimony Title: Commissioned Police Officer Duties: • De-escalate civilian crisis and public unrest at crime scenes and in civil disturbances • Maintain the safety of civilians at active crime scenes • Initiate preventive patrol in assigned areas • Conduct interviews with victims and witnesses to identify, arrest and interrogate suspects • Appear and testify in court • Interact with people of different cultures, backgrounds, mental health statuses
