Underwrite new business and renewals according to underwriting authority, established guidelines and determine proper terms and conditions for acceptable risks. Handled high exposure Commercial General Liability and Garage Liability Claims for Excess Surplus carrier. Was selected to participate as a product specialist for Garage and General Liability lines to assist in implementing Guidewire, a Claims and Underwriting system that integrated company processes and data. I handled both my Senior Claims Examiner position and the project specialist position for a year while managing both positions. Interacted with heads of departments and international claims positions to offer feedback for capturing loss data to enhance future business opportunities. I was considered a subject matter expert and worked with several layers of management throughout the process. Also, acted as a liaison between the project and our claims staff for training, process improvement and communication of all future enhancements.
