    • Project Manager: Water & Waste Water Treatment Plants
      • Jan 2015 - Jul 2017

At Tecroveer Holdings I formed part of the Projects division focusing on executing Engineer, Procure and Construct (EPC) type projects within the water and wastewater treatment industry. During my time of employment I executed 12 projects ranging from the expansion of existing water treatment plants to the refurbishment of derelict municipal waste water treatment plants. A project that stood out to me was the construction of a new 10Ml wastewater treatment works, bulk sewer pipelines and associated pump stations, and the refurbishment of the existing Mogalakwena wastewater treatment works. I was the appointed Project Manager for the full mechanical, electrical and control/instrumentation scope of the project with an Italian JV partner executing the civil works. • Project Engineer: Capital Projects (Mining Equipment)
      • Sep 2013 - Dec 2014

At WEIR minerals we focused on the manufacturing of mining equipment with my focus being on crushers, vibrating screens, cyclones, pumps etc. We worked from a world class manufacturing facility implementing Lean, Kanban and Just-in-Time manufacturing to achieve high production volumes in a fast paced environment. I was appointed as a project manager in the Capital Projects department where I took responsibility for planning, scheduling and managing all technical, commercial and management aspects of projects throughout the project life-cycle. I bridged the gap between this manufacturing company and the client, acting as liaison and ensuring stakeholder management through preparation of project status reports, collecting, analysing, and summarizing information and trends; recommending corrective actions where required. I compiled and executed project plans for the manufacturing and delivery of Capital projects based on terms and conditions of the tenders submitted. I maintained project schedules by monitoring project progress, coordinating activities, and resolving identified risks. A highlight of my time at this organisation was managing a project to develop and supply 44 off Hi-Chrome 650CVX Cyclones for WM Suncor Canada, these cyclone clusters were developed and produced as a new product on request of the client. The development of this product included pattern manufacturing, casting, validation, and assembly of this new entrant to the market. Development and industrialisation of this product necessitated extensive risk management, schedule control and stakeholder management both locally and abroad. This project was executed during one of the longest strikes in both the mining and the engineering sector in South Africa, presenting its own challenges to successfully execute this project. • Project Manager/Engineer: Water Transfer Schemes
      • Sep 2010 - Sep 2013

KSB is a German multinational manufacturer of pumps, valves with headquarters in Frankenthal, Germany. The KSB Group has sales and marketing organisations, manufacturing facilities, and service operations on all continents. The South African subsidiary of KSB established a unit called Fluid Systems, this business unit focussed on the implementation of turnkey water transfer schemes as an EPC service. Whilst sub-contracting for KSB on a project in Sirte, Libya I was afforded the opportunity to join this exciting company to develop and hone my skills as a project engineer under the guidance of a highly skilled project management team. During the time spent at this organisation I successfully executed numerous projects with the full project management responsibility ranging from design optimisation, procurement, quality control, logistics, installation and commissioning. I soon became responsible for the whole African Continent Portfolio, executing projects in numerous countries, including Tanzania, Uganda, Botswana and Angola. I had the privilege of adding the Agricultural Irrigation Expansion Project for Kagera Sugar Ltd. In Tanzania as a feather to my cap. This irrigation expansion project comprised of two river pump stations and two infield pump stations totaling eighteen pumps and two man-made dams. Planning and logistics soon became second nature due to the remote location of the sugar estate. We managed to complete this project successfully within 2 years enabling our client to take full advantage of the new assets at their disposal. Show less
