I inspect various rolls of 35mm and 16mm film in the Lowell Thomas collection. I am responsible for splicing the film, reading edge codes, and recording descriptions and general information about the film for the creation of a finding aid. I trained employees for this position as well. I also processed and organized primary source documents from a local business from the 19th century, the Clove Spring Iron Works. I also created an online finding aid and a historical note for this collection.

Research Intern

Jun 2017 - Aug 2017
I researched various museum items for the purposes of a new exhibition that would connect items of different cultural backgrounds. During my research I contacted museums and artists via email and phone. I wrote detailed reports of each item that the curator would use to create the exhibition and for the item labels. I also filled out outgoing condition reports for items and uninstalled galleries.

Circulation Clerk
-
Jun 2016 - Aug 2016
I worked behind the circulation desk greeting patrons and checking out their library items. I reserved and renewed library items for patrons over the phone and answered general questions about hours and library programs. I helped patrons with computer use, faxes and copies. Weekly I called Spanish speaking families to remind them to pick up their food pantry items that were provided through a partnership with the library and the local backpack program.

Resource Development Intern

Jun 2016 - Aug 2016
One of my main responsibilities was to contact local businesses for donations to the current campaign. I called businesses and retrieved the gifts from those who donated. I sent thank-you letters to donors, drafted emails requesting important information for the campaign, and contributed to the creation and design of campaign materials. I also worked as a data-entry clerk, updating donor lists and campaign contributions.
