MER produces "GenSets" or engine generator combinations to power various objects on boats. We work with diesel engines mainly John Deere’s, however we work with Kubota and Isuzu engines as well. MER bids on a lot of different projects so I am pretty much doing a different thing every day. At MER my responsibilities included' welding of multiple types of metals (steel, aluminum, cast iron, stainless) using various processes of welding (Mig *most used* stick, & Tig). Responsible for taking a “Cad” drawing or blue print; then fabricating from raw material a completed project I.E. tanks, brackets, pedestals, exhaust tubes and elbows to list a few. I also coupled engines with generators and build skids for the units, as well as install and plumb any sold accessories making brackets when necessary Show less
