I was Sales Executive for Springfield Properties, a new home builder based in Scotland, for just short of three years. In this time I was based in the Kinloch Gardens Sales Office located in Blairgowrie whilst also on occasion providing cover at the Bertha Park and Dykes of Gray developments in Perth and Dundee respectively. The main objective of this role was to be the key point of contact to any clients who visited the Sales Office, inquired by email or telephone or reserved any plot on site. Building relationships was key to establish a dialogue to provide clients with the information required to decide whether a Springfield home was right for them. Each stage of the client journey was recorded on the Sitestream Portal from reservation to key release. Based in a remote sales office, I have experience in working remotely and in this role worked closely with the team based at the Larbert Springfield HQ. This was carried out through telephone and email correspondence and also sending amended documents such as technical drawings highlighting any changes requested by clients to the design of their new home.In this role, I improved my organisation skills in organising and prioritising my daily schedule. I also further developed my customer service skills and establishing longterm relationships with key clients. A key component of this was attending the "How to Control Your Elephant" course presented by Elevana which provided a great deal of helpful tips on how to respond to difficult customers and turn their concerns into opportunities to exceed expectations.

    • Complaints Handler
      • Mar 2017 - Sep 2017

I was hired as Complaint Handler in March 2017. This role involved working within a small team of Complaint Handlers at the main Castle Water contact centre. As a Complaint Handler, my role involved investigating customer complaints submitted by letter or email. Each complaint was subject to a 10 working day deadline and required a great deal of organisation between team members to co-ordinate a daily plan in order to meet response deadlines. In all cases, I would contact the client to inform them I was taking ownership of their complaint and update them on an expected timescale of a resolution. Certain complaints required more in depth research and required further information and data before writing the official response to the client. In these circumstances I would contact the relevant internal department to gain the information required to allow further investigation. Maintaining and updating market systems such as CMOS, Edge and Zoho also was required to ensure that all systems worked correctly to aid the seamless running of daily business. In this role I gained experience and confidence in speaking with clients under difficult circumstances.

    • Teaching and Divisional Administration Assistant
      • Nov 2013 - Mar 2017

The Teaching and Divisional Administration Assistant role encompassed a variety of different tasks to support the implementation of Year 3 and 4 teaching of the BDS degree course. This included all aspects of preparation for the academic year including the co-ordinating student lecture programs, preparation of teaching and examination materials and collation and reporting of student exam result data. I was also responsible for any tasks required by the Oral Surgery and Maxillofacial Division. Tasks included the organisation and minuting of divisional meetings, raising purchase orders and maintaining a record of finances. The teaching team office were responsible for the delivery of Years 1 to 5 of the Dentistry curriculum therefore I was required to be flexible and to offer support to all years. The Dental School was one of the first in the UK to introduce the recording of student experiences through a digital LIFTUPP program. I was part of a three-person team responsible for the organisation and planning to program the platform to enable clinicians and students to record experiences. I also provided any technical support required to any of the clinicians based in any of the outreach clinics. I was also involved in the transferring of paper based Observed Structured Clinical Examinations into a digital format using Questionmark Perception software and providing technical support during examinations. In this post I learned a great deal of how best to work in the office environment. My colleagues were very supportive and I learned a great deal from my three years working in this office including how to work towards and meet conflicting deadlines and how to schedule my day in order to be most productive.
