- Four females between age 15-18 resided in the group home - The residents were Crown Wards OR were going through the hearing process to acheive Crown Ward status - My primary role was to supervise the residents and make sure of their whereabouts and safety - I was required to teach the residents life skills and support them in preparing for independence - I supported these residents through difficult family phone calls, access meetings with sibilings and family, medical appoinments, dental appointments, counseling appointments etc. - I built therapeutic relationships with the residents and was able to counsel them on personal issues - Another role of mine was to create the monthly recreation calendar and write up the monthly recreation review - I lead life skill programs and clinical programs twice a week - I diffused crisis situations and was able to debrief with clients afterwards - I completed documentation such a missing persons reports, medical reports, shift log, shift overview, medication checklists, incident reports, plan of care etc. - Administer medications to residents Show less
