● Monitor, record, and report symptoms or changes in patients' condition ● Maintain accurate, detailed reports and records ● Order, interpret and evaluate diagnostic tests to identify and assess a patient’s condition ● Modify patient treatment plans as indicated by patients’ responses and conditions ● Direct or supervise less-skilled nursing or healthcare personnel or supervise a particular ● Consult and coordinate with healthcare team members to assess, plan, implement or evaluate patient care plans ● Instruct individuals, families or other groups on topics such as health education and disease prevention ● Prepare patients for and assist with examinations or treatments ● Assess the needs of individuals, families, including assessment of individuals’ home or work environments, to identify potential health or safety problems ● Pre-operative admission history and physical information gathering ● Pre-operative preparation from patient including: IV start/monitoring, lab draw/interpretation, surgical preparation of area, patient/family teaching ● Post-operative care of patient including: wound assessment, dressing changes, monitor vital signs, pain control with medication administration, home care instructions, foley catheter insertion, monitoring and home care education when needed, drain care and home education, chemotherapy monitoring and home care education, physical and occupational therapy strategies for home care ● Preparing patient for discharge and providing discharge teaching for patients, family or support person ● Assess, monitor, treat and educate patients receiving and/or going home on chemotherapeutic agents ● Admit, assess, monitor, treat, educate and discharge patients receiving endoscopic treatment or procedures 2 ● Assist and collaborate patient care and treatment with physical therapy and occupational therapy for same day total joint patients ● Admit, assess, monitor, treat, care for, educate and discharge imaging and procedural patients Show less
