I have had the pleasure of watching Kristin grow and transform before my eyes over the past three years. She first came to my company at the very end of 2012 to escape unfavorable employment and thrived at McGirr Enterprises. Right from the start, Kristin listened and absorbed all that she could. She was eager to develop and to learn. She is a very quick study. About a year after she started working for me, my wife’s legal assistant quit and Kristin stepped up to the challenge of working for both companies. Intended to be a temporary fix, Kristin assisted with the law practice until January 2016 when she left both companies for a better opportunity. I’d say her dual role was made easier by the fact that the law firm and I shared office space, but no ordinary person could have performed at the level Kristin did for both companies. Replacing her has been a real challenge. She dove head first into the complicated world of law. She was a natural at dealing with clients for the law practice. Kristin is a rare find. A diamond in the rough. She’s hardly ever fazed by the task, shows up early, stays late and never complains. She’s well organized, contains an uncanny mastery of the English language and has impeccable phone skills. Kristin works well in teams, effortlessly makes friends and bring other members up to her level quickly. She takes to training others like a professional and can even work alone and unmanaged on any project. When she’s left alone in the office, sometimes for weeks, she would maintain the same upbeat demeanor. She genuinely cares about other people, regardless of whether they are a coworker or a criminal law client. She has an inborn understanding of social media, which should not be a surprise given that she’s a digital native, but she wasn’t actively using social media prior to working with ME. Before leaving, she was director of operations for my social media services firm. I trust her implicitly to take care of mine and my client’s reputation on the web. I can think of no instance where she ever let me down. I have hired many over the years; worked with hundred more. Kristin is one of those unassuming types who will surprise you at every turn. She is pleasant to work with, has a keen sense of humor and is generally positive. She knows when to keep quiet. In fact, the only area I would suggest she needs immediate improvement is in developing the leadership courage to stand up and speak out to her superiors when she has a conflicting opinion. Kristin is bright and has very good ideas. She’s creative and flourishes when given the opportunity to provide insight on a project, even if she has no prior experience. Her intuition is to be trusted. I cannot recommend her enough and if the opportunity ever presented itself again, I’d hire her back in a heartbeat.
