As the Academics and Accountability Officer I set the strategic vision and direction for the instructional leadership framework and pedagogical approach to the Consolidated School District’s academic programs PK-5 (approximately 4,500 students). I work as a leader, spokesperson, and conduit for teaching and learning. I continuously develop the short and long-term instructional goals that support the implementation of the curriculum and the vision for instruction in CSDNB. A critical component of my role is establishing a culture of high expectations and shared responsibility for equitable access to high quality and culturally relevant instruction. I continuously implement an ongoing instructional plan for the district that ensures effective teaching in every classroom which creates conditions that ensure systemic improvement of practice and accountability over time. Through a collaborative approach, I provide professional learning for administrators to build their capacity in driving school change. Talent Officer/School Supervisor

In my role as a Talent Officer/School Supervisor I supported our districts and schools’ initiatives by focusing on building staff capacity among administrators and all staff to impact student achievement from an equity and data driven lens. By taking a collaborative team-driven approach and providing support through coaching and supervision, I was able to drive continuous improvement among our schools and district. My role also afforded me the opportunity to recruit and find ways to retain staff in order to build longevity and expertise in our district to best service our students. In addition, I worked closely with the Department of Academics to ensure alignment in curriculum implementations and to find ways to support our subgroups with differentiated and culturally diverse opportunities and instruction in order to meet their needs. Principal of a Kindergarten through Grade 8 school in New Haven, Connecticut. Implemented several initiatives to increase student achievement. Currently overseeing a multi-year, multi-million dollar grant focusing on student academic achievement as a result or programmatic changes around the areas of Talent, Academics, Culture and Climate, and Operations. With individualized student learning plans and a focus on staff capacity building in order to implement rigorous instruction and high expectations, students continue to achieve at high levels. During my tenure as principal of Clinton Avenue School I led the school turnaround process from 2015- 2020 and successfully implemented a data driven plan using an equity lens that increased student achievement narrowing the achievement gap of all students including subgroups. In addition, I also led the school through the NEASC accreditation process to successfully receive accreditation. As a result of the implementation of a clear and systemic school change, our students increased their achievement levels on SBAC by 38% in Literacy and 22% in Numeracy. Show less
