      I provide reading and math intervention to students grades fourth through sixth. We utilize iReady test diagnostics to help identify students in need and their areas of need. Through use of the Spire program placement test, I provide targeted reading instruction based on students’ specific needs in phonics and areas of reading development such as comprehension and vocabulary.       While my description is “computer lab assistant,” I taught my own classes to kindergarten to second grade. I was responsible for my own lesson plans and management of the classroom. Kindergarteners learned the basics of how to control a mouse and other basic computer skills. First graders strengthened their typing ability and learned more about the parts of a computer. Second graders began using Microsoft Word to type; use features such as bold, font size and color, and insert picture; and learned how to save files. All students were instructed on Internet safety.       I interned in first grade reading and sixth grade math at Brantley School. I learned the importance of versatility during my time at Brantley. I also received plenty of on-the-job self-reflection as I was able to adjust instruction throughout the day because of teaching one subject at a time. I gained valuable insight on how a reading program works and am comfortable teaching in whole and small group to meet student needs.       I tutored ESL/ELL and native English speakers in writing and English. Sessions involved proofreading undergraduate and graduate level papers about various topics in language arts, science, business, etc. Tutorial sessions would vary based on student needs. Sometimes I would tutor a student in the writing process where other times I would even help ELL students with letter-sounds and how to properly pronounce words.
