Analysis of samples in front end of the process. This included analysis of potential feedstocks and samples derived from the pretreatment and hydrolysis of the feedstocks in the production of cellulosic ethanol. Relied heavily on HPLC analysis as well as some other analytical methods (spectroscopy, gravimetric, etc.) to provide a better understanding of the sample composition and properties. Technical Authority for calibration fluids in point of care unit. Calibration fluids were used in "calpacks" used in i-STAT cartridges. These cartridges are available with a unit to measure several different component levels in the blood. The calpacks were used to pre-calibrate the unit prior to analysis. The composition of the calibration fluids had to be adjusted based on specific cartridges and carefully produced under clean room conditions.
