      Intern responsibilities include: Plan, coordinate, implement and evaluate a diverse population of therapeutic groups and individual activities appropriate to meet the addressed needs of all participants. Activities to include community outings, leisure education, educational programs, recreation skill development programs, special events, and social skill development programs. Monitor activity supplies and inventory and order supplies as needed. Provide direct client care. Assist clients with personal care needs, meal service, activity supervision and assistance. This includes assisting with transfers, orientation, ambulating, and other needs as indicated. Attend team meetings and care conferences. Participate actively in the coordination of services and care as an active team member in providing high quality programs and services. Documentation: Completion of weekly and monthly documentation as assigned. Serve as a care coordinator and complete appropriate documentation for quarterly care planning. Conduct assessment on clients to evaluate leisure interests and needs and functional status in leisure. Coordinate a minimum of one RTD trip/outing and assist with all trips and outings. Complete and present 2 complete case studies including chart review, client and care giver interviews, observation, and assessment. Assessment: Understanding of and utilization of TR and other assessment tools in the provision of 1:1 interventions and in development of case studies for the purpose of determining client needs, interest, strengths, and weaknesses. Completion and presentation of a final major project, as deemed appropriate by the Internship Coordinator and the Director, which is decided upon through a cooperative exploration by the intern and the staff of the current needs of the program.
