Not your typical English teacher, I have had my own set of priorities when teaching my classes. From freshman English to senior Public Speaking, my goals has always been to show a real world application of the materials and inspire a love of reading.

Jan 1999 - Present
In this alternative high school setting, I have been the librarian, taught GED, taught English 11 and 12, and acted as a de facto counselor for many troubled high school students. Every year brings a new challenge and a new set of kids and their issues. This job has been the most challenging yet rewarding part of my career.

Dec 2015 - Dec 2018
After Hours Tutoring was a highly in-demand tutoring center serving students grades 5 and up. We specialized in SAT Prep but covered many other subjects as well. The business eventually closed due to the inability to find certified teachers who wanted to work, which was a real shame because we were very successful and, more importantly, our students were very successful while we were in business.
