  Started out in technician assistant position and was trained on the job as a technician in emergency as well as in ICU • Triage patients while obtaining and assessing vitals • Obtain medical history and record information accurately in patient files• Obtain laboratory samples from various animals, through venipuncture and cystocentesis• Place intravenous catheters, administer intravenous, intramuscular, subcutaneous drugs/fluids• Administer routine, emergency, pre/post-operative, and daily treatments to animals in the ICU• Restraint of various animals, including avian and exotic species• Conduct diagnostic imaging• Fill and dispense prescriptions to clients• Discharge hospitalized patients and review home care instructions and/or medications• Feeding, watering and ensuring proper cage cleanliness
