Following fifteen years as a stay-at-home mother and wife, I have spent the last five years working in a team environment coordinating the "Grow" pillar (Adult and youth education, adult small groups, and event planning for member ministry programs) at the National Presbyterian Church. I left the workforce one month before our first child was born in 2000. I very much enjoyed being an active mother for fifteen years. Over that time period, I was actively involved in volunteer leadership roles in school and church. I left the workforce one month before our first child was born in 2000. Apr 2010 - 2012
The Spring Fair is an annual fund raising event for the Lafayette Elementary School HSA (Home-School Association). As Chairman, I led a team of over fifty volunteers tasked with negotiating contracts with amusement ride vendors, food service companies, and local craft vendors. I worked closely with the District of Columbia Regulatory Agency to acquire permits and ensure all applicable city requirements were met. As an active member of NPC, I stepped in to serve as a part time employee/part time volunteer while the personnel committee searched for a full time employee. In this role, I managed a staff of eight to ten paid care giver employees as well as twenty parent volunteers caring for children from infant to preschool (age three). Senior Technical Recruiter
-
Mar 1999 - Mar 2000
In early 1999, I was hired to join Compus Consulting's technical recruiting team. I worked closely with senior management of client companies in the high-tech and defense contracting space to understand their specific skill requirements. I was then tasked with searching the tight DC/NoVA technology market for employees to meet their needs. Despite success and great job satisfaction, I left this position when our first child was born.
