Artday Sunday Funday - I began Artday Sunday Funday to connect and provide a creative outlet for the children living in my local area. I began facilitating an art day once a month where children of diverse backgrounds could get together to explore and develop their own creative identities. Each session varied in terms of focus and often surrounded perceptions of self and other, family, community, and environment. These ideas were explored through their individual symbolic references adopted by a variety of media including, paints, masks, paper, pencils, found organic media (leaves, flowers, sticks etc). Resident Artist - Zen Garage Exhibiting, facilitating, contributing, and running multiple events both inside and outside of the business while recognized as the Resident Artist. These events included, Fuel for Charity, Cars Zen Coffee, End of Month Meet, World Time Attack and most memorably Cars Zen Art. Clinical Placement (MAThR)
-
Aug 2022 - Oct 2022
As part of my clinical placement I was solely responsible for the delivery and facilitation of art therapy in support of consumers admitted on the sub-acute ward. This involved liaising and working alongside a multidisciplinary team to best support the treatment plans and progress of consumers through art therapy. Art therapy was conducted in both group and individual settings and reported back through the wider treating team in handovers, MDT'S, as well as reporting in EMR. My role was fundamental in educating and advocating for art therapy as a profession and saw great support from clinicians in various disciplines. It was also well received by consumers and provided beneficial alternatives to traditional verbal psychotherapies.

Clinical Work Based Placement (MAThR)
-
Feb 2022 - Oct 2022
As part of my clinical placement I have implemented art therapy within the current wellbeing services teams where it has not been done before. This has included designing, planning, proposing and delivering art therapy programs and workshops across diverse student groups to support their mental health and wellbeing. It has meant independently liaising and working collaboratively with colleagues and stakeholders across support services. I have implemented directives and themes into workshops with staff and students and provided tools and resources to assist in the delivery, safety, and expression of those involved. Due to the nature of art therapy not being implemented previously, I have also been responsible for reporting and collating data of art therapy within this setting. The implementation of my work has led to strong rapport and partnerships that will continue to grow throughout the year, leading to further opportunities for art therapy across the university.
