Kristi was a student in several of my classes at Bastyr University including Medical Nutrition Therapy, Quantity Foods and Perspectives in Leadership. Kristi demonstrated an enthusiastic willingness to learn and was a very strong student. She was confident, eager to learn and took initiative to go above and beyond the expectations of each class. Kristi and I discussed her interest in the field of nutrition on many occasions and I am pleased to see that her interest continues to grow. She participated in many events on campus during her time at Bastyr and was a committed leader. I believe Kristi has a bright future as a Registered Dietitian and I look forward to following her on her journey.

Kristi was a student in my Nutrition 12 class in the Fall of 2006. Nutrition 12 is a demanding science course geared for biology majors. She received an A in the course, attended class regularly and punctually, and was clearly very competent in learning the course requirements. Kristi was very interested in the course material and met with me many times throughout the semester to discuss topics raised in class in greater depth. From these personal interactions, it became clear that Kristi is very bright. I am very impressed with her critical reasoning skills and her ability to make the connections between what she was learning in class and its real world applications. I was also pleased to see that she has a strong social consciousness. For example, she was deeply affected by learning about issues of agricultural sustainability – and moreover, these issues motivated changes in her food choices. It is clear that Kristi is very caring and compassionate, and committed to helping others and making the world a better place. Kristi is also very articulate and adept at discussing concepts in nutrition, so I was very pleased when she indicated interest in tutoring nutrition students. She tutored for several years and did an excellent job. Students reported that she was extremely helpful, and the staff at the Learning Assistance Center confirmed that she was responsible and had a very welcoming and caring presence. I understand that she continues to tutor for other classes. I enjoyed working with Kristi and appreciate hearing updates as she continues in her education. Please consider this an enthusiastic letter of support.
