I had the pleasure of working with Kristen for several years at the Historical Society of Frederick County. She completely transformed the organization's educational programs, broadening their appeal and impact, making them relevant with regard to curriculum and public demands, and inclusive. Her program planning, research, and implementation skills are top-notch. She also is adept at marketing programs and events, especially by cultivating programmatic partners and effectively using social media. Of special note is her invaluable contribution to the HSFC's major core exhibit, which Kristen largely wrote. As her supervisor, I especially appreciated her coolness under pressure, professionalism, and follow-through. She is an invaluable part of any organization or institution fortunate enough to employ her.

Kristen knows museums and what the best practices are within the industry. She pays a great deal of attention to details and produces learning materials that are well thought out and professional. She is an agreeable colleague with a fantastic sense of humor. We were lucky to have her as our social media moderator, as she kept the content fresh, rich, and relevant. We were honored when she won a national scholarship as a museum profession's "emerging young leader" while on our team.

Manage departmental budget and provide marketing and grant writing assistance. In early March 2020, led the Program Department to quickly develop ways to continue providing programming and exhibits while the Delaplaine was shut down and as the COVID-19 pandemic has continued to limit in-person participation, resulting in the creation of the Virtual Delaplaine initiative, which includes virtual exhibitions, live online talks, recorded artist demonstrations and studio visits, and online workshops and classes. Researched health protocols and worked with state requirements to hold in-person summer camps safely. Working with community outreach partners to hold virtual workshops for their clients, and building new partnerships to reach local communities that do not currently have relationships with the Delaplaine.
