Kristen is one of the most amazing supervisors that I have worked for! As an intern, she immediately gravitated toward me and gave me so much agency in my day-to-day work. Kristen is passionate about any community that she serves and fights for the well-being of those people. She has a wealth of knowledge regarding the nonprofit sector and I learned so much about community building, grant writing, and the nonprofit world through her leadership. In addition to being a great leader who truly invests in those whom she works with, she was also a great person to be around and discuss everyday life. I miss our morning check-ins where we would sip coffee and chat! I would gladly work with and for Kristen in the future and hope that one day I get the chance to again!

Kristen possesses a wealth of knowledge that is unmatched in the non-profit space. She manages the grants program at the Waccamaw Community Foundation with an equal amount of passion for fulfilling donor intent and meeting the needs of our community. She has a special skill for relationship and trust-building that allows her to be successful in her unique role within the non-profit community of Horry and Georgetown county. Through this, she has a deep sense of the needs of our community on many levels and connecting organizations and individuals to meet those needs. Plus, she is fun and awesome to work with!

It has been a joy to work with Kristen the last 4 years here in Horry County. She has worked diligently to see that grant funders are made aware of the nonprofits that are making an impact in our community and they are then matched to one another. Kristen has also brought both leadership and vision to our local Waccamaw VOAD (Volunteer Organizations Active in Disasters) board. Her guidance while serving on the board has ensured that each organization is not only funded to reach their full potential, but more importantly that duplicity of agency efforts has been eliminated. By encouraging agencies to communicate and work together as a team, she has helped to streamline our efforts and we are able to accomplish much more. Kristen has many great attributes, but leadership and organization seem to rise to the top in her work. We are truly blessed to have her in our community and working for the Waccamaw Community Foundation. Kristen’s dedicated work has enabled our nonprofit to assist more than 800 families in each of the last 3 hurricanes and flooding. She is a difference maker empowering other agencies to provide only their best.
