  Adapted Shakespeare’s The Tempest to a 15-minute version to be performed by 8-15 year olds. Adapted the script making it appropriate and accessible for children. Directed a group of young people in a performance of The Tempest. Led a group of 10 children in rehearsal, creating characters and speaking Shakespeare’s text. Found creative ways to connect the children to a text written 400 years ago. Facilitated outreach performances within the Portland community. Brought The Tempest cast to different community locations and invited residents to take part in theatre games that I adapted with characters and themes from the play.
