Sports Nutrition Practicum
-
Jan 2015 - Present
During this Sports Nutrition Practicum, I perform body composition tests to the athletes, help set and individualize goals relating to nutrition and performance, and provide recovery smoothies post training sessions. While creating the recovery drinks, we answer questions and provide nutritional information to the athletes on the purpose and importance of recovery, including why we are putting each ingredient into the shake specifically. Nutrition Volunteer
-
Jun 2016 - Aug 2016
During the summer, I volunteered in Magee Womens Hospital summer program, specifically for the Food Service Department. This position entailed collecting food surveys from the Dietitians patients, regarding their specific opinion on their meals. I experienced the online program of entering and creating menus, specific diets and likes/dislikes. I was able to go room to room, discussing patients concerns and questions regarding nutrition, along with ensuring they are getting the best possible service, helping to ensure they are receiving their proper needs during their stay.
