• Introduce and oversee new mentorship procedures from the latest research on best practices, to meet objectives set by the executive director. • Conduct research and analyze scholar needs through surveys and interviews, with 400 students to determine program directions and goals for the strategic planning committee. • Conceptualize and coordinate the Mentor Recruitment Initiative to keep up with our current and projected client demand.• Help 25 current scholars increase their GPAs by giving them the time, resources, and guidance they may not receive or feel comfortable receiving from other external sources (family, school, friends etc.)• Prepare and maintain records and quarterly reports such as: number of mentorship matches, alumni updates, Summer Academy student data, and training manuals.• Supervise the restructuring of the Alumni Association over a six month period; by evaluating what events, workshops, and committees worked well and then create an action plan to change what was not functional.• Provide a qualified mentor to 40 scholars who believe that it would add value & help them to achieve their goals.• Establish and maintain relationships with organizations, to meet the needs of our scholars though mentors, conference speakers, job shadows, workshops and scholar sponsorship. • Refine past processes and procedures to ensure that the 2014 Summer Academy runs smoothly, and provides a fun yet challenging experience for the students.
