Experiential Internship
-
Jan 2014 - Jul 2014
In depth internship studying nonprofit management within the local food system. I worked closely with the Executive Director and Marketing Manager to successfully promote and organize a 20,000 person parade and festival weekend including a local food summit, farm tours, bike race, and street fair. I created and held smaller monthly events as well as established a daily lunch forum highlighting local organizations and free to the public. I gained experience in event management, marketing and public relations, and community building. I strengthened skills in volunteer and staff management, organization, and computer applications.

Site Supervisor
-
Feb 2006 - Dec 2012
Over seven years of employment I held progressive positions in with Imagine! One year I was chosen to be part of a Leadership Development Group (LDG). I received mentorship from top executives, attended leadership workshops, and then applied the practices in my life (and job). As a team, the LDG wrote and presented a business plan which created the Volunteer Department in the large nonprofit organization. As Site Supervisor I over saw the entire operations of a group home: client health and safety, staff training and retention, community engagement, budgeting and maintenance. That is a small sentence for a lot of different skills learned and applied, I would love to have a further conversation with you.Working for Imagine was the toughest and yet most rewarding position of my life. I see people as people and I practice compassion.
