I’m grateful for having had the opportunity to get to know Krista while working alongside her at Save Our Shores. Krista's passion for preserving our marine ecosystems and protecting the many diverse inhabitants of our majestic Monterey Bay Marine Sanctuary shine through in all aspects of her work. As a colleague, Krista is consistently kind, understanding, inclusive, and helpful. Her creative drive, wholehearted team spirit, and commitment to always giving her personal best are invaluable in the workplace. When I observed her leading field trips, I was impressed by Krista’s natural ability to encourage critical thinking through hands-on lessons and engaging games. At the onset of the pandemic, I was equally impressed by Krista’s ability to pick up new skills quickly as she converted in-person lessons to online offerings. During that time, her natural storytelling ability shined through as she envisioned and produced a series of video lessons. All in all, it was a pleasure and an honor working with Krista. I greatly appreciate all of the marine ecosystem knowledge she shared with me and I look forward to watching her changemaking career continue to unfold.
