  As part of Master's Degree, we had to complete one month of voluntary internship with any organization. I chose to work with Smile Foundation who works with grassroots initiatives for effecting positive changes in the lives of underprivileged children, their families and communities. Smile Foundation's educational initiatives include Pre-school [3-6 yrs], Non Formal Education [6-14 yrs non-school going], Remedial Education [6-14 yrs school going] and Bridge Course [14-18 yrs drop-outs]. I worked under the education program under smile foundation. I was posted at Society of Human and Environment Development NGO, which was one of the grassroot NGO working at Mahakali Caves, Andheri East, Mumbai. Here I taought the preschoolers at their Balwadi (Preschool) in the morning and took tutoring session with school children of grades 1 to 6 in the afternoon. Show less

CanKids KidsCan is a National NGO working across the entire spectrum of Childhood Cancer Care. I along with other two girls, worked under the Education & Reintegration Program of CanKids Kidscan where we conducted sessions in Canshala, a formal school for children with cancer, with the preschool children and also conducted sessions at Chattai Therapy and Learning Activity Clinics, a special set - up which was made in the Children's ward at various hospitals that provided cancer treatment to children, with children of various age groups.
