Being a cashier at Shell is my first job in Canada, and I respect this opportunity as I am getting a first-hand experience of the Canadian consumer market. As a cashier I had to deal with the following: -- Consistently managed online and in-store customer orders. -- Tracked all the financial transactions. -- Promoting brand loyalty and customer service. -- Resolving customer issues in-person and online. After working for a year in India, I noticed the vast differences between both the work cultures. I believe that I am better suited for the Canadian work culture due to my experiences with the customers and the interactions with my manager could not have been any friendlier. Show less

Living in the diamond city has its perks. Arihannt Diamond Institute closely works with GIA (Gemological Institute of America), and aims on training its interns on how to conduct business in the Indian and international diamond market. My experience can be summarized in these points: 1. Learnt to efficiently manage time 2. Contributed in team projects 3. Increased focus 4. Developed an ability of analyzing demand in the diamond market 5. Acquired patience and exceptional communication skills Initially, I started by examining a single diamond every day and its traits that it makes it so unique, gradually, I found myself brushing through 300-500 packets in a day! As I started investing my time and resources into the diamond market, I started learning new techniques of broadening my perspective about the diamond industry. We had to ship international orders to Canada, USA and Russia. Our clients expected quality, which was never compromised. At the end of the internship, ADI gives us an even more practical experience of the local diamond market by making us actually go to the local firms with whom they have connections with and let us observe their way of working and how they make their sales. We were lucky enough to get the opportunity to grade and sell the diamonds ourselves in the market. This is the just the beginning and I can not wait to experience all the upcoming exciting events in my life. Show less
