VP Credit Risk Officer

Aug 2015 - Present
Manage the Credit Analysis Department of the Bank. My primary focus is analysis and mitigation of credit risk but I have a full understanding and appreciation of the bigger picture as I have worked closely with all departments of the Commercial Banking work world throughout my career. I am a participant in Credit Committee meetings and have a credit approval authority. I actively participate in FDIC and other regulatory meetings. I routinely collaborate with Lending staff and Chief Credit Officer to structure loans and leases that are of acceptable credit risk to the organization, including new prospective and existing relationships, as well as work-out situations. As necessary, I directly communicate with the Borrower/Prospect throughout the underwriting process and with ongoing follow-up communications after the main underwriting is completed to help foster a sound Bank/Borrower relationship. I truly value a team environment working toward a common goal and excel at promoting and contributing to collaboration between the Lending and Underwriting staff. Conduct full Underwriting of Commercial Loans of all types in a wide variety of industries, including; Commercial & Industrial, Contractors, Real Estate (investment & development), Retail, Non-Profit, M&A/Leveraged, Private/Consumer Banking, International Import/Export, Small Business Association and several others. I routinely work with Correspondent Banks on various participated or syndicated loans/leases. Show less

Conduct full Underwriting of Commercial Loans of all types and in a wide variety of industries. Loan relationship sizes varied but generally were greater than $1MM with some exceeding $20MM. More complex credit relationships included Mergers/Acquisition, HVCRE Commercial Real Estate, Leveraged Lending, Work-Out, Tax Credit (Historic, New Market, Etc.), TIF Financing, among others. I managed a group of Analysts for 8 of my nearly 11 years, with up to 11 Analysts plus Interns in offices throughout the Twin Cities Metro Area. As Manager, I was responsible for assigning work, monitoring the quality of work product, assisting other Analysts with more complicated relationships and conducting performance reviews. I worked collaboratively with the Chief Credit Officer, Senior Credit Officers and other department heads in Lending, Cash Management, Compliance and Loan Operations to ensure continual improvement and team work between inter-departmental. Throughout my tenure, I was a member of several initiatives that were put together for specific projects, but also to drive for continuous improvements to systems, processes and procedures for the department.
