This position is a contract and program manager for the Construction Program. The position is responsible for managing the progress of all contracted public involvement activities involving the Engineering Division and contracted public involvement activities on construction projects. The position is responsible for managing, coordinating, and documenting all public involvement activities and working with the MDT Public Involvement Officer, from project assignment to contract award including selecting consultants, negotiating contracts, developing contract budget, administering contracts, directing consultants’ work, project risk assessments, working with stakeholders, the Public Involvement Officer, and MDT staff to ensure that MDT requirements are met. Projects assigned are diverse and complex. The position is responsible for management of over 20 concurrent projects and 7 separate consulting firms simultaneously. The position directly reports to the Consultant Design Bureau with an indirect report to the Public Involvement Officer and is responsible for management of various consultants performing work for MDT.Some of the duties include-Prepare consultant agreements and amendments to ensure accurate and legal documentation of project requirements. Manage contract budget to ensure compliance with agreements and to track funding levels through review of earned value reports and approval of expenses.This position requires extensive skills in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with the public, officials, media contacts, and Department staff and managers.
