Odlo US - involved in the discovery process of launching a retail store in the US for 75 year old Swiss outdoor apparel brand. Responsible for leasing and development of The Bellevue Collection - a nationally recognized, upscale, and luxury mixed use destination comprised of retail, office, restaurant, hotel and residential. The 50 acre campus has 5 million square feet of leasable space. This role provided me with the “other side” of retail - landlord, developer, tenant and the myriad of key professionals, government entities, and trades necessary to get a store, restaurant, hotels and offices off the ground or renovated, the art of negotiation and the critical importance of site selection to achieving wins for all parties involved. Seattle Flagship Store - Highest profile store, largest store budget and #1 store volume in the company.My 2 decades of leadership at Nordstrom culminated by serving an amazing team of 1200 employees including 52 department managers and 60+ assistant managers.Reflections and learnings gained while leading at Nordstrom:Having a Nordstrom career was exhilarating, engaging and rewarding as I aligned well with the company ethos. Nordstrom grew rapidly during my tenure allowing me exposure to many different aspects of the business, relocation to 3 different cities and multiple leadership assignments. Their faith in me, guidance, and my willingness to jump in and swim hard to succeed taught me a great deal. The years of service cemented within me a passion to create great experiences for all, that servant leadership accelerates building a brand and culture, one must strategically execute the big picture and also obsess about the details, blending art and science in decision making results in good outcomes, study well consumer behaviors and above all else be people centric They deserve it.
