I am responsible for the Trail King West Fargo facility’s safety, quality, delivery, and financial performance. Implemented, and further developing, a holistic Operating System that focuses on executing leader standard work in a timely and visible fashion demonstrating the importance of utilizing the system. Additionally, the system required working with multiple support functions to extract real time data in an automated fashion to provide timely performance feedback to the entire Operations team.

Manufacturing Engineering Manager

Lead manufacturing process improvements through process development, daily continuous improvement support, and capital project management. I was the first manufacturing engineering employee hired at Trail King; accepting the role as Manufacturing Engineering Manager to develop a nonexistent department into a vital support department at Trail King Industries. Proven ability to drive positive change has enabled my role to jointly lead operational improvements while building and developing a successful cross functional team that now includes Manufacturing Engineering, Tooling, and Maintenance. Current focus is now on driving significant fundamental value stream improvements while developing direct reports through teaching leadership skills and project management techniques.

Weld Department Supervisor & ME Manager

Role focused on safely attaining schedule while continually improving processes to improve quality and consistency. Started by running two aluminum trailer models managing nearly 50 welders and assemblers. Increased throughput by 47% and doubled profitability with no capital expenditures or increasing square footage. After putting processes in place to sustain performance, was moved to run two steel weld lines. Increased production volume of both lines, did so while maintaining target efficiency on one model line and doubling the profitability of the second model line.

Manufacturing Engineer II

Lead Weld Structures Manufacturing Engineer for next generation excavator and skid steer loader.  Created weld assembly, robotic welding, and machining manufacturing processes. Collaborated with product engineering to design all piece parts and structures. Created and lead tooling design through a collaborative process: team included product engineering, tooling engineer, operations management, and operators. Launched production of first platform 18 months after start of blank sheet design, launched second platform 10 months later while moving entire product to Gwinner factory from Bismarck factory.  Consolidated six different models into one model line with three platforms.

Manufacturing Eningeer

Improved existing production processes through implementing Lean Six Sigma Greenbelt projects. Created and executed process improvement projects saving over $400,000 annually.  Completely re-laid out weld department during a one week shutdown to eliminate automated guided vehicles, shortened weldment lead time, and opened up 10,000 ft2 of production space.  Held a lead position on the Quality Improvement Team. Created, lead, and participated in Continuous Improvement events. Implemented over $1M of capital installation projects; contributed to capacity and capital planning.

Regional Business Banking Manager

Managed regional business production of 18 financial centers while developing new business.  Increased regional business checking account production 25% from 2005 to 2006. Increased regional business lending production 50% from 2005 to 2006. Directly worked with business specialists in all 18 financial centers to uniformly improve regional performance and enhance company’s market presence.
