Client was facing issues with rewriting an add-in for their document generation system and wanted additional oversight. The application was being developed in VBA to support custom activities the business used for creating legal documentation, and the client was losing confidence with missed dates and low quality demos. Client contacted Sogeti to have someone brought in to review and assess the work from the existing developer and made recommendations on cleanup and the go-forward path. After spending a few weeks with the developer and business which included code reviews and application demos, requirements evaluation with the product owners, and re-estimation of the work compared to the deadlines it was determined that the exiting development work was not meeting requirements, and was not able to support enterprise standards of development. An attempt was made to bring in additional resources to try and salvage the code and minimize the rework, but to no avail. A final solution was proposed, recommending a small development team writing a VSTO add-in that would meet all requirements. The solution was viewed as an answer to the problems, but management decided not to spend additional money on a custom solution so it wasn't able to be implemented. Key Technologies used or directly influenced within the client: - VBA for Word - GitHub - VSTO

Excelling as a leader in the company, my responsibilities include teaching and mentoring other consultants at their daily job, while growing the Sogeti brand through sales support and client relationships. Every day brings a new opportunity for me to grow while helping others to excel at their career. It starts with teaching junior coworkers about new technologies; or better, more robust, scalable ways to write .Net code. From there, I help them grow their career into something that they can be proud of through mentoring them on skills such as communication, estimation, time-management, and leadership. With this responsibility, also comes the typical management responsibilities of maintaining budget and timelines on projects which I oversee. I have an additional challenge leading consultants as I have two budgets to try and balance with each other while ensuring the dates committed to are met. The hardest part of my job is having to correct employees when they aren't meeting company or client expectations, but I do it because I believe its another opportunity for someone to learn and grow. My responsibilities also include working closely with the CxO and Director level employees at Client sites to build trust and partnerships with Sogeti. I do this by discovering their needs and helping to find the right type of consultant for the client's environment and technical landscape. I continue to build the relationships by constantly re-evaluating the consultants delivering for the client to find the best cost-benefit for the client, while also maintaining the career growth the consultant desires. Key Technologies used or directly influenced within the client: - .Net 3.5-4.5; WPF, WCF, MVC4 Razer - Angular 2 - WebAPI & SignalR - Waterfall to Agile transformation - DevOps Process w/ TFS, TeamCity, Octopus, Telerik Analytics - SQL 2008-2016 - SharePoint 2007-2013
