Koryn was a new media innovator in my classroom. The work she did experimenting in audio, I still use in my classroom. I learned from her Koryn. She was eager, aggressive and really pushed herself. Koryn makes me excited about where journalism is heading. She's got a lot of good ideas and is not afraid to experiment. I hired her to work for me during her last semester at NYU. She taught audio editing workshops, and helped me create content for a multimedia website based on my off-broadway play and she was great!

SPU is the public utility agency of the city of Seattle which provides a range of services for 1.3 million residents. Learn more about SPU at: www.seattle.gov/utilities As Strategic Advisor, Video Production and Creative Design, I am accountable for overseeing and optimizing the planning, design, development, and production process for various creative collateral, media assets, and photography projects. To carry out my mandate, I lead the full creative process across the production cycle – including planning, branding, scriptwriting, advertising, marketing, and production – to raise awareness of key issues and promote SPU’s mission. Among my accomplishments, I have: ➥ Developed custom marketing material to promote the Water Pipe Worker Apprenticeship Program, including radio and print advertising. ➥ Optimized and tailored brand messaging to target underrepresented communities within the skilled trades sector, resulting in the most racial and gender diversity of any Water Pipe Worker Apprenticeship class in SPU history. ➥ Developed an animated educational video series for WA state schools to teach students the path freshwater takes from forest to faucet. ➥ Successfully mitigated the impact of the pandemic on the normal flow of operations by driving a seamless transition to digital platforms to replace in-person classes. ➥ Produced a first-person video to amplify Environmental Justice and Service Equity messaging and highlight the importance of race and social justice to SPU. ➥ Developed an award-winning photography series documenting SPU frontline workers’ COVID-19 response activities which was used in a variety of utility campaigns between 2020 and 2021.
