I started at the Alzar School by designing and implementing a summer expedition for teens that combines leadership, environmental, and cultural education called Roam. During my work creating that program, I accepted a position as Director of Expeditions and Risk Management for the expeditionary boarding school. In this position, I oversaw the staffing and performance on expeditions, taught and mentored staff for professional development, composed risk management reports and updated policies and procedures, oversaw the medical committee to review and update first aid kit contents, managed expeditionary equipment, ordering, and budgets. I traveled with the school to Patagonia where we spent six weeks living, learning, and exploring.
